Capitol Police Crack Down on Media, Order Journalists to Delete Photos and Videos

Chants of “Kill the bill, don’t kill us” echoed through the Senate visitor galleries Tuesday afternoon while lawmakers cast votes to move forward on debate surrounding the possible repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Capitol police officers arrested a number of protesters, many of them members of the disability rights group ADAPT, and even admonished some journalists who were covering the demonstration to stop taking photos and videos.According to multiple tweet reports from journalists present at the galleries, Capitol police demanded that journalists—including those from the Daily Beast, the Huffington Post and the New York Post—delete photos and videos of the demonstration.

Trumps call for police brutality should strike fear in the residents of this nation

I’m afraid that my life will end at the hands of either a jittery (or downright racist) cop or some rightwing nut job. While that may have been a probability all along, when the President of the United States advocates for the brutality of its citizens, and Michele Bachmann, a woman in his inner circle, spouts racist rhetoric to her GOP base and she has a legitimate chance at becoming Minnesota’s next governor (she was already a U.S. Representative), well the probability has increased to a likelihood.
